"Running"

Today I haven't actually done a lot. I got everything together to go walk/jogging and a change of clothes then went up to the trail I usually use. I then went to my my mom's house to shower and change clothes. I had planned to go to Fry's but by the time I was done with the run it was 3:00 and that's really too late to do much of anything on account of rush hour, so I'm doing that tomorrow.

I also did the grocery shopping and got some vitamins and whatever. Wow that sounded really dull.

I have talked to a former staffing service gal about getting me back in the loop and she said she would be happy to do this and she'll keep me updated on upcoming positions. So it sounded kind of promising, ya know?

I have started to realize I haven't been having nearly enough fun lately. It's all working on that PHP book all day every day. Or the PHP book and whatever other random things I need to do. I just don't' have that much fun. I did get Dragon Age: Origins for Christmas so that will probably be fun. Assuming my PC can manage to play it I mean. It will probably run it just not very well.

I do actually need a new computer. Actually I need a new laptop as well but first things first. I don't think I really want to big uber-powerful laptop to replace a desktop as I was thinking about at one point, instead I'm just going to build a new PC part-by-part. My goal is to have a Core i7 with probably 8 gigabytes of memory and a really really nice graphics card. I'm hoping I can manage to do this for less than $1,100. My current one cost around $1,000 at four or so years ago. No optical drive and no hard drives helps with a cost a bit. I still would have buy a new chassis and probably a PSU separately. And I'm sure I'll end up buying an after-market heat sync/fan for the processor as well. All this will be running Windows 64-bit of course. So I'll be lucky to hit $1,100 when the all is said and done. Although now that I think about it I have a credit card. I could use that and pay for the computer over several months. And pay it off slowly over a long period. I'm allowed to do that right?

I'm also thinking a lot about the new web site I will eventually set up using the other domain name. It will have PHP/MySQL parallel with an HTA using VBScript tied in some way to SQLite. Kind of a cross-over project. Still not sure what the HTA will actually be called when all is said and done. Still thinking about that.

Well as I still can't think of anything else to write I'm going to stop now.

This blog is a combination "personal musings" (mostly satirical and dripping with sarcasm) ranging from what's going on in my life to my views on politics and various current events. For 2010 my goal is to make an entry every day for the entire year or at least as close as I can come to that goal as may be practical.
