"Not Much"

I think I actually accomplished quite a bit today. I made up a list as a goal of the things I wanted to accomplish and I accomplished nearly all of them. Had I known how easy it is to replace the bulb in the headlights of my car I most likely would have accomplished all the goals.

From getting a hair cut to taking clothes to a dry cleaners, I did actually get a lot done today. I'm most of the things were tasks normal people do on a daily basis without so much as a second thought but for me it some how seems like an accomplishment.

One of the things I didn't actually get to was getting shelves for this shelving unit thing in my room. I have needed shelves for it since I moved into this current condo and I have fully acknowledged I could have tried to purchase new shelves at any time in the past six months. It's almost like some kind of psycholigical thing now. As if some how the shelves represent that thing I could still do with all this non-working time I find myself with. And when I accomplish that then obviously the free time is over. Or maybe that's just rediculous. I mean I was thinking the other day about how some of my few job interviews it was almost like I had a fear of success or something. Like some how, some way, in the deep recesses of my mind there was still stuff yet to be accomplished with the free time. So perhaps buying shelves with be that symbol that I'm ready to move on. Or maybe I've gone completely crazy from six months of no job. That could be too. Where was I? Right. I'll be buying shelves tomorrow, if at all possible.

I would also like to start browsing for new "back planes" for my server. Or else I will have to take out my current back plane. I mean one slot already went dead, for all I know more slots could go dead. Also, the little fans on the back of the back plane aren't spinning I noticed and not all the power lights seem to actually light up. I don't know if that last one is indicative of anything but I would not describe as a generally positive sign for the device. Right? I hope I can get one for some where LESS than $100. Although I don't exactly want to skimp on quality either. As you can tell it's quite the conundrum.

Of course today I haven't exactly done a lot with the PHP book. Mostly because I was getting all that list of stuff done. At least it kind of frees up tomorrow for that much more stuff to be accomplished with the PHP book. Right?

I did re-upload my resume in nicely formatted text file to some various job boards. I'm hoping the plain text will some how make the resume more search-friendly. I was also reminded once again that a hyphen and a hyphen, though looking indistinguishable from one another, can in fact be two completely different characters. For some reason when I uploaded the text resume some of the hyphens would be hyphens while others would be some random garbage character. So I would do a search/replace of the character (replace all the hyphens with hyphens) and that fixed it.

On a different subject I keep coming up with new features for this theoretical HTA I keep thinking about. Although I don't know if it will ever actually exist. I am committed to the PHP book and translating the PHP scripts I write into an HTA so as to learn but sometimes it just seems like I have put in a lot of effort and still no pretty much nothing. So I may or may not be patient enough for this. I'll keep working anyway.

I'm fairly certain there are things I would like to still be writing about but I can't think of what those things might be so I'm going to stop now.

This blog is a combination "personal musings" (mostly satirical and dripping with sarcasm) ranging from what's going on in my life to my views on politics and various current events. For 2010 my goal is to make an entry every day for the entire year or at least as close as I can come to that goal as may be practical.
