"LAN"

I'm ending up writing this entry much earlier in the day than normal to get the post "out of the way". Of course that not usually a good sign one is really enjoying something if said thing has be done to get it out of the way so to speak. I mean it's not that I hate doing entries it just sometimes seems like a chore when I could be doing other things like reading my PHP book.

Actually I don't think I'm going to make my artifical deadline of January 31st for the completing that book since I don't think I even read it for the last two days. I did read parts of another PHP book and I did read parts of those two JavaScript/DOM books and also last last night I found some great pages on reading and writing XML files using VBScript in the form of an HTA or plain WSH type application. So I feel like at least that part is now some-what within reach. Or at least it is "come together" that slight much more.

The only other thing of note for today in the LAN party I am planning to go to tonight about 6:30 or so. Course I could show up earlier to make sure I get a good spot. I actually haven't purchased one of the main games they are apparently going to be playing which I imagine will take away from some of the fun of it all but between the PC and the car repair plus those two books I bought last night for no particular reason I just don't think I want to spend another $50. Maybe that's just me.

Actually a week or so ago I actually re-purchased Battlefield 2 via steam. It was a combo pack with all the little expansions/add-ons and a some-what reasonable price and I can only hope steam does in fact keep the thing patched as necessary. I still have no idea why a game with so much emphasis on online play would lack an auto-updater. But there ya go.

To be honest I don't actually like BF2 as a game. Outside of LANs I don't even play it, ever. But I am apparently in the minority since it is played extensively at pretty much every LAN party I go to. So I know I have to have it. And actually I have forgotten my account name and password yet again so I'll probably make yet another account for it. I just don't care that much about it and never play it. I don't even know why an account is required. I'd like to be able to play at a LAN and just play without a stupid account name. At least when I change 3D settings the re-calculating phase that used to take a seemingly long time now takes hardly any time at all.So there's that.

Well I've got PHP to read so I'm going to wrap up this little abbreviated entry now.
