"You can fit four in there!"

Yes, it's true, my blog now has it's own home with a domain name and everything. Or should I say "oh cool, welcome to 1998"? All right so it took a while before I actually purchased a domain of my very own and made a web site out of it. I hope everyone has it

http://www.etalii-step.com/

That should be the site you're already on but go head click on it if you like. It was an extremely amazing deal too. I bought both the hosting and the domain name for only $65US for a full year paid up. And the reviews from current customers I found were quite heavy with praise for the service. So this is quite the sweet deal. I hope I don't sound like a commercial but I am pretty excited. This is after all my first very own domain name and everything. I am going to put a link up here so other people can sign up with them. Also I'll get a commission :-).

So lately it's just the same old thing every day. I find it so difficult to go immediately to bed when i get home from work even though I get home after midnight. Who really sets their body clock to come home from 7 or 8 hours of work and go immediately to bed anyway? So I end up staying up for a couple hours, which makes me sleep in even further. So I have about 5 hours before work to do whatever, which I guess should be enough for anyone. Right?

I'm still sort of figuring out if I like my new job. I just finished my first two weeks and I think I'm at that stage where I am just getting over the learning curve and/or starting get settled in. I just get so tired of not knowing anything and having virtually no one to ask questions. For instance two weeks ago I was given a schedule by what I assume is a senior boss of the company that included 42 hours a week. Now the standard is 40 and another employee a week newer than I am inquired in accounting about such a setup and was told this was wrong and he'd leave early that day he asked. So what the fuck? Am I not supposed to working 42 hours?! No, no one to ask. No managers, no supervisors, no one. Furthermore I could be doing something completely wrong for all I know or using a facility of the system that doesn't even work. No one has come by to fire me but no one has come by to say "hey new guy just to let you know you seem to be doing your job correctly." I mean this would be nice. Too much to ask? Yes, of course it is. Furthermore I often get questions I haven't the slightest idea how to answer and still no one to ask. This is just great. So apparently my company does not particularly care about customer service. Now tech support is free so I guess you get what you pay for, the customers do that is, but come on now. And the tech support is paid peanuts so the company gets what it pays for too.

I'm not sure what the deal is but it seems I'm not nearly as much in the mood for a blog now a days. Oh sure now that I buy my own domain right? Of course I am working six days a week. That probably has something to do with it. I am already mulling over my next entry though, including a title I for one have always liked although it isn't a pop-culture reference beyond my own grandpa.

Ok so maybe I still do like politics. Not as much as I used to perhaps. My standpoint at least it looks like those "hippies" I so often refer to are really falling apart. Or it could be they only look like they are falling apart. For instance some Democrats are against catching terrorists and preventing the deaths of innocent Americans while others would prefer we give the terrorists welfare and discuss our differences over a cup of tea perhaps. I am of course speaking of the elected and/or running for President individuals. That party has been acting a little weird the past 18 months or so. There was the funeral for the senator from Wisconsin that was broadcast and ended up looking a lot like a political rally. There was that group of congressman who went over to Baghdad and said negative things of their own country. I mean what the fuck is wrong with these people?

Now it is my understanding Democrat party is actually a coalition of several groups of individuals who only unite under a single banner because they know no one of them can win on their own. For instance there's the "scary" left wing types who seem bent on turning the USA into some sort of neo-USSR, the environmentalists who are pretty much the same thing but have gimmick of moving towards the goal of a neo-USSR, there's the union members who care mostly for "fair trade" and "leveling the playing" field and using economic policy the push such ideas, and of course a few others who are simply your average every day types that have one or two they absolutely can't live without such as abortion or gun control but would otherwise vote for some other party. A lot of these groups have opposing viewpoints and it seems now that these groups are becoming more and more hard core. For instance the "environmentalists" as they call themselves for some reason seem bent largely on the complete extinction of the combustion engine (read Earth in the Balance by Al Gore for what I'm talking about) while the union groups are largely made up of the very workers who are making those evil SUVs and other combustion engine-based vehicles.

So does this point to the coming ripping apart of the Democrats as a party? I whole-heartedly doubt it. Just as in the 2000 election the fringe will fade to the background, a centrist will emerge, the massive PR campaign provided free by the biased media will begin and this could very well become a close election. Too much is at stake to risk any other scenario. On the other hand...

There is a theory that the Clintons are secretly trying to sabotage the election of a Democrat in 2004 so Hillary has an all clear to run in 2008. There also appears to be some sort of fight over control of the party between those who were running it before the Clintons came along and the Clintons. I still believe based on the job the media managed to do with Gore who seemed an absolutely non-sellable personality that the party could in fact be pulled together and motivated to put in the votes just like they did in 2000.

Now not to leave the Republicans out or anything I also have commentary on them. Now it seems like currently at least the Republican should the party for "everybody else" as in you're not a neo-USSR type and you're not a historically disastrous economic policy type you may have some place else to go. But really you don't. For some reason Bush is push the left's agenda and giving them much of what they want and ask for. They still hate him with a buring passion despite but he keeps passing their agenda. Bush really isn't all that conservative and never really acted the part either. Even way back in early 1999 or late 1998 when he was just starting to campaign he was very "moderate" or "bipartisan" or whatever. For instance I remember reading his campaign web site back then and it actually stated given that the congress and senate passed a bill requiring gunlocks on all hand guns he would actually sign it. This is grossly left wing and grossly unconstitutional and yet there it was on his web site.

So there ya go. On domestic issues at least we have left and lefter. A senate that's left, a president that's left, everybody's left. Even though the scary left-wingedness the Democrats were exhibiting got more Republicans elected in 2002, which would seem an outright rejection of such ideas, the president still feels the need to move further left and pass their agenda. So I'm not represented. No one in Washington D.C. cares to represent me or a large portion of the population. Now it's not as though I'm all that radical. I mean just let me live my life, make my money, let me spend it as I see fit and let me be. That's pretty much it. No candidates or senators out there who care to represent such a position.

In large part the only thing that would keep me voting for Bush would be his foreign policy. Unlike the previous president Bush is not a p....uhhh pacifist ;-). If it wasn't for Donald Rumsfeld there's a good chance I would never even vote again the rest of my life. There's really no point any more. Politics makes no sense. The USA has a population who essentially rejected wacko leftwing neo-USSR-ism with the 2002 election and yet we have a party other than the wacko left wing one who is also trying to be wacko left wing for some reason. Look the wacko commie pacifist mother fuckers have a party. Where am I, the non-wacko commie pacifist mother fucker supposed to go?! But Bush, thanks in large part to Rumsfeld, will have the superior foreign policy and therefore in all likely hood my vote. So there ya go, the closest I'll ever come to endorsing a candidate. If you can call that an endorsement.

Now what I really don't understand is pacifists now that I'm talking about them. For instance I know there's pacifists out there who would just assume do absolutely nothing about terrorists and just put out an APB on OBL and sit back and live life. A lot of these same people would just assume open the borders and let anyone and everyone stream across, take over our culture and change our language without any regard for the people who are already here and invested heavily and staying here. But these same people for instance lock their doors at night, put up firewalls and use software to block access their computers and any number of other things. This seems inconsistent to me. Why would you protect your own private property, keeping out unwanted visitors from your house and the rest of your property and yet let in lots of illegals and terrorists without the slightest hesitation? Would these people not do anything if a family member was being raped in front of them and they could stop it? After all they are pacifists. They must be passive. They can't shoot the rapist, they can't talk and try to disable the rapist, they would only be able to stand there and watch. And why not? You say this is a bad example? That's what their doing allowing terrorists and illegals who have no intention of working into country. But if it was affecting them personally they'd react differently? Can that be right? I doubt it. Or maybe they would react differently. Of course consistency doesn't seem to be liberalism's strong point.

Now that I've once again gone on with my non-sensical ramblings and most assuredly alienated what audience I ever could have had I think I'll stop writing a while. Here's the answer tot he last entry and goodbye.

The title of the last entry, "...", was a cop-out on my part as I could not think of a good entry title. I was using this ellipse as a placeholder for the brilliant title I would eventually put in there but I never did think of one and I wanted to go to bed. So there's your extensive explanation :-). I'm sure everybody thought of that.

This blog is a combination "personal musings" (mostly satirical and dripping with sarcasm) ranging from what's going on in my life to my views on politics and various current events. For 2010 my goal is to make an entry every day for the entire year or at least as close as I can come to that goal as may be practical.
